10. More Politicians
“My name is Barack Obama, and I approve this message.” If you turned on your television during the end of 2012, you would most likely hear a commercial playing of Mitt Romney singing the National Anthem or Obama telling us why we are better off after four years. The heated debates between the two competitors got old really fast. Luckily, the election is over and only have to worry about fiscal cliffs, debt ceilings, and whatever they cook up for us next. Enough with politics, let’s just let the president do his job for the next four years.

9. Psy

“Oppan Gangam Style!” These are lyrics known maybe too well by the majority of the US. Park Jae-sang, better known as his stage name Psy, is the Korean Pop singer who created the song. “Gangam Style” was released July 15th, 2012 and has generated over 1.10 billion views on YouTube, surpassing Justin Bieber’s “Baby.” The video is known for the infamous “horse dance” that Psy does in the video. Although this song is catchy and popular we’re tired of the endless re-makes and appearences. Even hearing it once forever burns it into your brain. Because it was overplayed so much, the song has become annoying. We don’t need another repetitive annoying beat, so let’s say goodbye to Psy this year.

8. Rihanna

Does anyone even remember the sweet Barbadian singer who sang “Pon de Replay,” “S.O.S,” and “Umbrella”?  Now all Rihanna sings about is sex. If you compare some of her songs now like “S&M” and “Diamonds” to some of her older songs, you would hear a huge difference. Sometimes change is good in singers, but ever since the Chris Brown incident in 2009, there has been a notable difference in her appearance and music. And now, Rihanna and Chris Brown may even be back together! Her inappropriate music is filling the ears of teenagers, and it needs to stop. Before something bad happens to her again, let’s hope she dies out.

7. Honey Boo Boo

‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’, aka maybe the most pointless show on television has taken over. Coming out in August 2012, this show is about a six year old pageant girl Alana along with her mother June and father Mike. This family originally gained fame in TLC’s Toddlers in Tiaras, so why do we need to see them again? This show receives high views and ratings, but some of us really want it to be gone. It exploits young children and has examples of obesity, poverty, and child rearing practices. Parents should not encourage their children to watch this show. It seems nowadays television show writers think of the stupidest things and turn it into a program. Let’s hope “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” changes to “There Goes Honey Boo Boo”; forever.

6. Nicki Minaj
Take a few phrases that have nothing to do with anything, put in some nonsense, add a beat and you’ve created a Nicki Minaj song!  Nicki Minaj is a rap/pop artist who has gained too much fame. She is known for her songs like “Moment For Life,” “Superbass,” and “Starships.” Sure her songs are catchy and great to dance to, but this girl is top notch annoying. Do we even know her real hair color? She’s had pink, green, orange, blue, blonde, black, dip dyed, spotted, stripped, long, short, curly, and straight hair; different every time we’ve seen her. Not to mention her music videos are a mess of provocative dancing, bright colors, too much make up, and her huge eyes blinking. Her voice has rang in our ears for maybe too much time. Hopefully, she will slowly die out in 2013.

5. Snooki
Nicole Polizzi, or, ‘Snooki’ is a celebrity from MTV. She is well known for her role in all six seasons of MTV’s reality show Jersey Shore. Although this show had many teenagers glued to their televisions, The Lance is relieved to see an end. However, just when we thought the wave of GTL and Italians was over, Snooki and her co-star/friend Jennifer Farley (JWoww) signed a contract for a spin-off show called “Snooki & JWoww.” Season Two comes out in early January, but most people are hoping it’s the last. Not only will her new show give her publicity, but with her new baby Lorenzo, there just seems like there’s no way to get rid of her.

4. Another Boyfriend for Taylor Swift

Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, Lucas Till, John Mayor, Corey Monteith, Toby Hemingway, Jake Gyllenhaal, Zac Efron, Garret Hedlund, Eddie Redmayne, Conner Kennedy, Patrick Shwartzenegger, and Harry Styles. These 13 men all have one thing in common: they’ve all dated Taylor Swift over the course of the last four years. These breaks-up have led to Swift’s prodigious outpouring of pop emotion, and she’s only 23. These songs include “We Are Never Getting Back Together “(Jake Gyllenhaal), “Back to December” (Taylor Lautner), “Dear John” (John Mayor) and many more. In recent interviews Taylor complains that she doesn’t want to be “that girl that goes from boy to boy.” Cool it with the boys Taylor! At this point, boys may try and date Taylor just for the publicity. She is currently with Harry Styles, but if that relationship ends, we can look forward to another Taylor Swift song on the radio, “Out of Style.”

3. Kim Kardashian’s baby

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are having a baby! The Kardashians have blossomed in the celebrity world with their show “Keeping up with the Kardashians” and are known for their beauty. Kim Kardashian has had her fair share of spin-off shows and publicity, and now she’s pregnant. Kanye and she are not married, meaning this is probably another publicity stunt. In 2011, Kim married Kris Humphries, but the marriage only last 72 days, wasting millions of dollars. For the next nine months we are most likely going to hear nonstop updates and problems with Kim’s pregnancy and relationship with Kanye West. Babies last a lifetime, so pray for Baby Kardashian

2.    One Direction

One Direction is a pop boy band from England who became famous from The X Factor, but who am I kidding, you probably already knew that. Teenage girls (typically) worship these boys like they are their gods, and frankly, it’s annoying. These boys play regularly on every pop radio station, interview, and commercial. One Direction has taken ‘Bieber Fever’ to an all new level with their fans known as “Directioners.” One bad word against these boys and you might have your head torn off. One Direction has stolen a majority of girls’ hearts with their songs like “What Makes You Beautiful” and “One Thing.”

1. Justin Bieber

Will Bieber Fever ever come to an end? This 18 year old sensation doesn’t even need an introduction. This Canadian pop artist is already known around the world. He has his army of “Beliebers” that have been with him the whole ride on his journey to fame. His music video for “Baby” is the second most viewed video on YouTube (to “Gangam Style”), and the boy is even famous for his hair. He has 30 million followers on twitter, second only to Lady Gaga! He is the heartthrob of many teenage girls nowadays, but what makes him so great? Many paparazzi risk their lives just to get a shot of this young artist. He’s been in the spotlight ever since 2008, but it’s time for him to go. Hopefully in the near future “Bieber Fever” will be cured and a new artist will step into the spotlight. Still, preferably not One Direction.
