Summer is right around the corner and there is no better way to spend a summer afternoon than at a concert with your friends. Here are some of this summer’s highly anticipated concerts.
Event: Wild 94.9’s “The Bomb”

Behind the scenes: “The Bomb” features some of hip-hop and R&B’s most popular artists such as Rick Ross and Pit Bull. The concert focuses mainly on popular singles in today’s mainstream which makes it more teen-friendly, as most of the people that listen to the radio can recognize the songs.
Event: Van’s Warped Tour
Where: Pier 30/32, San Francisco
When: June 27
Cost: $33.50
Behind the scenes: This nationwide concert kicked off in Los Angeles in April and is always a summer favorite. With over 100 bands scheduled to perform throughout the tour, this concert is a can’t miss for music lovers. Event: Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood In Concert
Where: Oracle Arena, Oakland
When: June 29
Cost: $60-$142
Behind the scenes: Two world-renowned artists unite to perform timeless music. Clapton will perform classics such as “Layla” and Winwood will accompany Clapton on his own top hits.
Winwood does not perform with Clapton often, so this is a good opportunity to get to see them perform together. Anyone interested in blues guitar virtuosity or classic rock shouldn’t miss this one.
Event: No Doubt with Paramore
When: July 25
Where: Shoreline Ampitheatre

Behind the scenes: No Doubt is back at long last. Gwen Stefani and her old bandmates reunite after a guest appearance on the CW’s popular show, “Gossip Girl.”
Paramore and the Sounds join them on this summer tour, which promises old ’90s pop, modern alternative rock, and all around great music.
Event: Rock The Bells
Where: Shoreline Amphitheatre, Mountain View
When: August 8
Cost: $30-$156
Behind the scenes: Rock The Bells is the annual acclaimed hip-hop concert that features legendary artists such as Nas and also has new upcoming artists such as The Cool Kids.
Past years’ acts include Talib Kweli and KRS-ONE. For any hip-hop fan this concert is a great way to wrap up your summer.
Event: Treasure Island
Where: Treasure Island, San Francisco
When: Oct. 17-18
Cost: $65 for one-day and $115 for two-day tickets.
Behind the scenes: The yearly festival on Treasure Island traditionally features electronic and indie acts. Saturday will focus mostly on the electronic side of the acts, while Sunday tends to focus more on indie style. None of this year’s artists have been revealed yet, but past acts included the Raconteurs, Tokyo Police Club and CSS.
