I think one of the greatest hero’s in history is Nelson Mandela. I think Nelson Mandela is a hero to many people because of all he went through to achieve what he wanted in South Africa. He grew up his childhood in not the greatest childhood-teenage hood ever, because of all the many things that were wrong back then. When he was older he was sent to prison because of the actions he did in order to stop apartheid, he was in prison for a number of years. When he finally got out of prison, like a typical person would give up on what they were fighting for but Nelson Mandela did not give up. He got out of prison and carried on fighting for apartheid to end and everyone to be equal. Then in 1994 he got his way and was elected as the president of South Africa, and in 1994 the apartheid era finally came to an end. Nelson Mandela is loved by so many people in South Africa and is also quite famous world wide because of all he did and went through to achieve what he achieved.
