Teach us Teacher: Priority levels

When programming a character, the order of the lines of code set that character’s priorities straight.  For example:  Let’s say you program a Kodu to wander around the stage.  Then you add a line of code that tells it “when you see an apple nearby, eat it.”  When you play the level however, the Kodu seems to pay no mind to the apple.  That is because it is focusing on the moving portion of the code.  Move the eating code above the moving code and BAM!  Your Kodu will go after the apple when it sees it nearby.

Help, Teacher, Help!: It takes too long to test an event in my game!

An easy solution to this issue is to add “shortcuts” to your game.  If you want a star to appear when you get 30 points, you don’t have to work hard to get those 30 points.  Just assign a letter or number that adds points when you press it.  So now I can see if the star will appear when I get 30 points just by pressing, say…’Q’.
