Fire. Determination. Intensity. Those elements were clearly in the eyes of four Schurz seniors when they faced wells on 12/13/07. Eric Solis gave Willie Sandifer an ally-oop to get the first to points of the game. That was just a taste of things to come. Solis finished the game with the team high 22 points and a perfect 3 for 3 behind the three point line. Sandifer led the team in blocks with eight and also added 12 points. The sixth man is some one can come of the bench and give a spark to the offense. That’s exactly what senior Andy Flores did. He came of the bench with a hot hand earning twelve points and hitting 2 for 4 behind the three point line, to give Schurz the lead at the end of the first half. Every time Charles Bobo got the ball on the base line, he would fake out the man guarding him, and drive base line for an easy lay-up. Bobo finished the day with eleven points. Despite the victory coach Shelton was not entirely happy; the coach explained, “Yesterday’s game was a real sloppy game, too many turnovers we didn’t rebound well. I think they were tired from playing back 2 back games. We need to play a lot better if we expect to win."
