Showcase night a successFriday, March 23, 2007 By Megan Taaffe
Showcase night was a hit! It not only showed off the many classes and extracurricular activities available, but also showed off the amazing talent of many RHS students. Cheers and applause erupted after choir sang their hearts out in the theater. Men’s choir sang Billy Joel along with the famous quartet (Jan Paz, Michael Felias, Joe Lopez, and Richie Ferris.) The quartet won a contest to sing the national anthem at a River Cat’s game. “It [the choir performances] was a riveting experience that pretty much changed my life. There wasn’t a dry eye in the theater. I cried, bawled and tore my heart with my teeth,” said Bouzid. Art was displayed in the lobby, also displaying the 2007 art student of the year, Trina Branaugh-Chambress. While Melissa Triebwasser, freshman girls’ basketball coach, considered her booth the “obviously hoppin’ one”, other sports such as tennis had displays also along with core academic classes. Overall showcase night was a huge success. Parents and students alike had the opportunity to see the best of Rocklin High’s talent. |
