She received a laptop as an award of the first place. The coordinator of this contest, Kenneth Brown, said that the winning slogan will be published in Muni to bring the attention of the public toward breast cancer patients. According to Yong, Troy Cantrell, college and career and health education teacher in TMAHS encouraged her to partake in this contest. “I heard this contest from Mr. Cantrell. I thought it would be fun so I tried,”said Yong. According to Cantrell, he found out this contest from email. Since he is a health teacher, he thought it was a good chance for students to take part in this contest. He felt happy for the contest result, “It’s about time. Yong has done a lot of things. It is nice to see her receiving recognition.” Besides this contest, Cantrell also noted that there are other contests and scholarships for students to participate in.
