Summer fun or summer jobs?Wednesday, May 13, 2009 By Emily Books
It may be hard to find a job if you’re between the ages of 11 and 14. You could babysit, walk dogs, or mow lawns. If you want to get a real job, the Texas law states you have to have a working permit and be 14 years or older. Babysitting may be the most common job for students. There are some things you could do to help parents trust you with a child. You might want to try the Red Cross. The website is http://www.redcross.org/ and they have classes especially for babysitting. Try to get involved with something to help you in the future. If you wish to get into acting, you should try out for a local play. If you wish to become a vet, you could go to Petsmart . Maybe, if you want to be a teacher, a counselor for a camp might get you on your feet. Also, if you wish to be a chef, go to a restaurant . Most importantly, find a job that suits your personality. Summer jobs can be a great learning experience.
