Ubele is "Mr. Versatility"

Tyngsboro High School clean up hitter and co captain of the baseball team, junior Danny Ubele can do just about everything on the baseball field. Hitting over.390 on the season,it seems he’s always finding a way to drive in runs at the plate. In the field he’s just as effective playing shortstop, pitcher, catcher, and third base. Ubele knows that it takes preparation for the baseball season. “I play for the New England Ruffnecks AAU team in the summer and after that’s over, I work out at the gym and hit and pitch all winter long and during the offseason so im ready by spring”. Playing baseball his whole life, Ubele has learned to take baseball one day at a time. “We have to take it each game as it comes and take it day by day..I have to keep working hard every day and help the team get better”. Despite the team having a 7-13 record, Ubele knows the seasons not over. After winning the Ashland tournament, in which Ubele clubbed 3 home runs in 2 games, the Tigers qualified for the State Tournament and will play tenth seeded Georgetown. Georgetown currently sits with a record of 13-7. “I think we can make some noise in the state tournament, we have talent, we just have to get it working and we’ll be a team to lookout for.” Ubele didn’t want to look ahead but he did tell me he’s excited for next year. With about 7 returning starters coming back there will be more expierence on next year’s team. With his senior year coming up Ubele wants to continue to play baseball at a high level. “Franklin Pierce is definitely a school I’m interested in. That’s probably my number one choice right now”.
