Six Flags over Georgia theme park is Okay !

Wednesday, September 30, 2009 By Jasmine Fillmore

“Horrible news for those planning a trip to the famed amusement park Six Flags Over Georgia . It's under water,” a journalist from newsday.com reported. Reporter Jessica Damiano’s statement is not a fact as the amusement park has re-opened to the public. Parts of the park flooded the night of September 21, but this reflects only the back part of the park. There is a small lake underneath the rides Ninja and Scream Machine therefore one could imagine the lake overflowed and filled in all the ground space of the whole Lickskillet section that surrounds the lake. Entertainment employees of Six Flags Over Georgia park stated that they were at work Sunday morning while it was raining but no characters, such as Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny and Mr. Six, were allowed to go outside. As soon as the rain increased, the park owner closed the park early. By the afternoon, the back of the park had flooded and other places like the USA Character Room was deluged. By Monday night, other places in the park were heavily effected by the overflow of water. Those places include the back parking lot, the Lickskillet area where Thomas Town, Ninja, and Scream Machine are located. Also, parts of the Gotham City section including the Batman ride and Mindbender were also covered in water. The Lickskillet section and rides were the central focus for reporters with their big cameras, and helicopters. The pictures viewers saw of the park on the news were showing the Lickskillet section, mainly the back parking lot, the amphitheatres where concerts are usually held, and the scream machine which was all underwater. The Lickskillet section is said to be closed for the month of October, but everyone is free to come and enjoy the Fright Fest attractions and rides located throughout the front end sections. Visitors to the park can enjoy different Fright Fest shows. In edition, Fright Fest will have the annual haunted house, witches, she-devils, and fairies passing out candy in the Bugs Bunny World section, and there will be a new scary ride coming this 2009 Fright Fest season.
