Smoke Signal
Chips and a DrinkThursday, November 05, 2009 By Chris Aldama
Recently, on September 4 th , the Police department hosted a Car Show to help fund raise for the Special Olympics. Cars from around the state arrived to show off their classic styles. To promote the cause, “Surreal Life”, “Chips”, and novella star, Erik Estrada made an appearance. Taking pictures and signing autographs to bring people to eat barbeque and marvel and the cars. This is not the first time that Erik has teamed up with the police forces of America. He has come together with the Crimes Against Children Task Forces to protect all children from the sexual predators online; His official website _ErikEstrada_.com. “He’s a star from the past” says Patrick Kinoshita, who is a drama supervisor and technician who was around to watch “Chips”. When asked of the popularity of the show he responded “I was a huge fan of the show”, “I watched it every week”, Patrick went on to explain how he personally wasn’t a huge fan of Erik or “Ponch”, although he did believe that the event was well publicized “ I had co-workers who said they were going just to see Ponch”. These were the people that would go on to raise great money for the great cause. Whether the people went to the car show to admire the barbeque, the cars, or Erik Estrada, the event raised money for the best of causes and some lucky few would bring home a warm feeling or a picture of Ponch. |
