This year’s golden globe awards were on NBC last Sunday; the 17.The event honored and recognized many well deserving movies and television series. Categories for recognition included: Best director – motion picture, Best performance by an actress in a motion picture – drama, Best performance by an actor in a motion picture – drama, Best motion picture – comedy or musical, Best motion picture – drama, and many more. A few upsets occurred in categories like Best television series- Drama, and Best television series comedy and musical. The golden globe for best drama television show was taken by the creators and cast of Mad Men . Mad Men beat both Dexter and House. The best Television series in the musical or drama categories is Glee . Competitors in the same category were 30 Rock , Modern Family , and The Office . "This is an outrage," senior Joey Smith said. " The Office and 30 Rock are both better than Glee. " The real prizes of the night were given in the best comedy and drama film categories. The best comedy film was taken by The Hangover, directed by Todd Phillips. The other major award was awarded to Avatar, directed by James Cameron, in the best drama category. "It was a really good movie," senior Brian Kelly said. "It deserved the recognition." |
