Five Guys fulfills all expectationsTuesday, February 23, 2010 By Shannon Turner and Kyle Edwards
From the mid-80’s up to now, they serve their loyal customers with a smile on their face and an apron around their waist. The Five Guys Burgers and Fries franchise has become extremely popular on the East Coast and it seems to be creeping its way into our side of the country with the full-potential of becoming the next In-N-Out. Five Guys first opened their doors to the public in 1986 and has since grown into a massive franchise. Their 80’s music, red and white tiled walls, and lively staff brought an air of fun to the place and encouraged a talkative and lively environment. Although it could get a bit loud, it definitely carries a more relaxed air that encourages its patrons to just "hang out." Their service, although not the fastest, was definitely efficient and their food was extremely good. Starting with a blank burger, the staff at Five Guys asks the question: "What do you want on it?" This may seem like a rather odd question, (as most places add lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, etc. automatically), but after a quick glance at their menu, their motives are quite clear. As they claim: "there are over 250,000 ways to order a Five Guys burger" and with their selection of toppings, it isn’t doubtful. Whatever you choose for your burger, they’re bound to have it. Be it: mayo, relish, onions, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup, mustard, jalapeno peppers, green peppers, A-1 sauce, barbecue sauce, or hot sauce, they have every one of them and, of course, cheese. Although this wide, mouth-watering list of toppings seems almost endless, no burger is complete without its french fries. Five Guys likes to "shake things up a bit" and offer a choice of Five Guys Style fries or Cajun Style fries. Whatever your personal choice may be, they are not shy about dishing up fries. The Five Guys experience is a must for anyone who enjoys a good burger. From the pleasant staff, to the air of relaxation, to that extra "bang for your buck" (as one newspaper says) it is a good place with excellent food. We give this place five forks out of five! 11461 South St Cerritos, CA 90703 |
