Girls SoccerFriday, March 05, 2010 By Anthony Manfrin
As the spring season rolls in, so does a new beginning for the lady Chargers Soccer Team. Last year, the Chargers were 4-12 overall, and 2-8 in conference. This year, with many key players returning, the girls hope to improve on last years season. Coached by Sebastian Falinski, the Lady Chargers are poised and committed to making this season a winning one. “I hope we have a winning season,” said Katie Olson, senior. “This year girls seem more committed than last year.” This year, the Chargers have 10 players returning. Falinski thinks the experience will help the team this season. “We have more experience than in the years past, and the girls know what is expected of them,” said Falinski. “My hope is that we win 10 games this season, and I think we are capable of accomplishing this goal.” Key returners include seniors Deanna Libricz, Katie Olson, Lindsay Tarte, and Nicole Beck. “I want to have fun, and have everyone get along,” said Olson. “I’m really excited for the season to start.” Libricz, a four-year starter on the team, is attending NIU next year to play soccer. “This year is different than past years,” said Libricz. “My goal is that we have complete attendance at practices and games, as well as have all the girls be committed to strive to be better individually and as a whole.” |
