in as many talents as I could. I wanted to make [the show] funny. I just wanted to go all out. There was no going halfway. [The experience] was unreal, incredible. I’ve never won anything before, so to do it in front of a sold-out crowd was just crazy,” McCabe said. McCabe won over the crowd and the judges with all parts of the program. Impersonating Olympic gold medalist Apolo Ohno, he donned child skates and a strip of artificial chin hair. During the talent portion of the night, McCabe played the electric bass tuned to a cello, which he affectionately called the “bello.” He also recorded and played a video highlighting the joys of elementary school years. After Edelman said the winner was one of “Da Boyz”, McCabe knew he had claimed the title. The show successfully raised $3,755 for this year’s prom. |
