Seniors deserve early summer vacationThursday, March 11, 2010 By Abbie Sweeney
Every year, seniors get out of school earlier than the rest of the students. Is this fair? Yes! Seniors have gone through every grade to get to that point. They deserve this one special privilege. Some underclassmen complain about how they believe it is unfair. They think everyone should get out of school at the same time. When those underclassmen become seniors and get early school-dismissal, they surely won’t be complaining. It’s just at the moment when the underclassmen see the seniors get out, they wish they could, too, because summer break is so close that they want it as soon as possible. Therefore, they argue that the seniors should get out at the same time as everyone else. Seniors should get out of school earlier than the rest of the students. They worked hard to get to their final year of high school. If underclassmen want the same thing, then they need to earn it just like every other senior has had to. They will get out early their senior year. Seniors also have a set graduation date and they need time to practice for the diploma ceremony. Senior week is what students should be excited about. It’s the seniors’ own personal time to enjoy finally reaching the end of their school years and moving on to college or another profession. |
