Seniors party one last time at Prom 2004Tuesday, May 25, 2004 By Kristen O’Gorman
The prom can be really fun, but there are always annoying hassles that might mess up your night. Here are 5 key tips to make this year’s prom night run as smooth as possible. 1. Are you afraid your feet will kill at the end of the night? All girls know that comfort doesn’t matter when it comes to shoes, as long as they look good. It seems the more painful the shoe, the more stylish. This is why you shouldn’t leave the house prom night without pain relievers, such as Tylenol or Advil, or band-aids in your purse. Also, try out new “foot petals”. These comfy cushions will comfort the bottoms of your feet, and also keep your feet from sliding out of your open toed shoes. You can get these helpful finds at footpetals.com. 2. “Can someone hold my purse for me while I ...?” This repetitive question is often asked at proms. To rid this problem there is a handy “undercover purse”. This garter purse can be easily hidden under your dress, and out of your way. You can store money, lip gloss, and any other touch-up items you will be needing. Now there is no need to worry about losing your purse! 3. One of the few things a guy needs to do for prom is get a tux. After your date goes through all the work of applying makeup, buying a dress and making a hair appointment, the least a guy can do is have a nice tux. Some people might think it is easy to get a tux, but during prom season there are a lot of tuxes rented out, and if you don’t act fast you might wind up with a stained pink tux with ruffles from the sixties. 4. Dancing around all night could really mess-up a girls appearance. If a piece of hair runs astray, all it takes to get you back in shape is a bobby pin. Be sure to carry extras! “Is my mascara running?” You wouldn’t need to ask someone this question if you wore water proof mascara. For other random makeup touch-ups be sure to have a nail file, a personal mirror, and a mini bottle of foundation. 5. It is the biggest fear of a girl’s prom night; ruining their dress. Spilling a drink, or tearing a dress is a scary reality. Safety pins are great to fill in unwanted holes that happened when your shoe got caught in your dress. Although not as stylish, there pins are a life saver, and pretty discrete. For a clumsy date spilling his punch on you, make sure you have Shout Wipes. This easy to use product can be a savior from the embarrassment of having a giant orange stain on your new, expensive, white dress. An extra and obvious tip is to to have fun. Remember, you only have one senior prom! |
