The boys tennis team continues to keep a positive mentality, despite experiencing early defeats. The boys played at home against Kewaskum on May 4, and won: 6-1. Bringing in victories were Josh Sweere (#1 singles), losing the first set: 3-6, and winning the second and third sets: 6-1, 6-3; Travis Buechel (#2 singles), winning: 6-3, 6-2; Dakota Kandler (#4 singels), winning: 6-2, 7-5; Ben Hickman and Mitch Propson (#1 doubles), winning: 6-1, 6-3; Brady Kees and Cory Mortimer (#2 doubles), winning: 6-3, 6-0; Phillip Buelow and Jeremy Rach (#3 doubles), winning: 6-2, 6-2. At their meet in Kewaunee on May 6, Chilton won, 7-0. Josh Sweere (#1 singles): 6-1, 6-2. Travis Buechel (#2 singles): 6-1, 6-2. Brian Hauser (#3 singles): 6-0, 6-0. Dakota Kandler (#4 singles): 6-1, 6-3. Ben Hickman and Mitch Propson (#1 doubles): 6-2, 6-1. Brady Kees and Tyler Wells: won the first and last sets: 7-5, but lost the second set: 3-6. Phillip Buelow and Jeremy Rach: 6-2, 6-3. "As of right now, we are 2-2 in conference meets, but we have a very tough stretch from now to subsectionals. It will be interesting to see if our intensity can increase enough in practice to pull off some upsets," said junior Travis Buechel. |
