Successful Season Thus Far for Varsity Track

Tuesday, May 11, 2010 By Ryan Cahill

The Track and Field’s team season is nearly completed as there are only a handful of meets left. The Colonels hope to be able to continue to their progression and improve their skills before Region and ultimately State. The Colonels headed down to Louisville to compete in the Eastern Relays, a prominent meet featuring over one thousand athletes and teams from five states. The meet began pleasantly, but with two events left, the rain arrived and postponed events before being canceled. The Colonels next competed at the NKAC Conference Championship, which was a relay meet where all results are combined with that of a teammate to determine the winner. The team had a strong performance and won, continuing their streak of NKAC Conference Championships. The team then competed at the De Hart Hubbard Invitational at Walnut Hills, once again testing their might against the powerful Ohio Track and Field teams. The Colonels managed a second place finish and will once again compete against Ohio teams in the La Rosa’s Classic, this Saturday at La Salle High School. The Track and Field team is performing at great levels and competing against some of the best teams in the state. The Colonels are continuing to make strong strides in quest for another state championship.
