Sea monster found

Wednesday, July 07, 2010 By Nicole Kurtz

A whale? An elephant? A sea monster! As reported by CNN, researchers searching for whale fossils in the Peruvian desert found a fossil three times larger than the average killer whale. This three meter long skull fossil was originally thought to be an elephant but after close examination was discovered to be a 12 to 15 million-year-old fossil. Elephants have only been in that area for three million years. The creature’s large teeth imply that it once fed on large prey such as whales. Researchers believe it is very unlikely that another sea monster will be found.
