Going for my dream..Friday, November 12, 2010 By Sara Keith
It all started when I was about 3 years old. I lived to dance, so I started taking dancing lessons at Herman Sons Dance with my cousins. At the time I thought, “Every kid goes to activities when they are young, it’s part of growing up, right?” I went to every lesson, every recital. I was all for this dancing thing! Until one day, I found out that my grandpa was dying and that he had been admitted into the Methodist Hospital. My mom and I rushed to the hospital! My grandpa didn’t look very good, so I was really worried about him. He was in there for about three months or so. His birthday was coming up very soon, it was right around the corner. My grandma and I went to go get him some things, and we came upon these nuns. They offered to go sing for my grandpa’s birthday. He was thrilled when he saw them! Five days after that, he died. I stopped dancing after he died because he was my inspiration. He was the one that taught me how to dance. I’m 15 now, and I am just starting to get back into dancing. I dance every day now. I make up dances for my friends, because they want to learn how to dance. I listen to my iPod, and to the beat of the music. I can just make up a move. I make up dances all the time for me and my friend Theona. Theona told me, “Sara you need to become a choreographer, you’re so good at dancing!” I really miss my dancing. I’m dancing for my grandpa, because I know he would love to be here right now and see me dancing. I absolutely love it! I was thinking about having dance lessons for kids, if they want to learn, just let me know. |
