On October 28th and 29th, students from the DCHS Interact Club went to the Getwell Road United Methodist Church Day School to help work and set up their Fall Festival. About 15 students on each of the days went to the day school and encouraged the kids to participate in activities to receive candy as a prize. Students from Interact helped set up and run the many games that were offered for the young kids, from toss the apple to face painting, mini-basketball to feed the squirrel. Mrs. Davis said that this is an essential part of getting involved in the community and seeing a part of young children's lives. It encourages mature growth and a kind respect for the younger generation. It also shows them that even big kids know how to play. Sponsor Mrs. Parker said, “It was wonderful to see our students interacting with the young children. They showed great patience and maturity and were wonderful examples for the young students at the school.”
