Obama=Great President...........HardlyTuesday, January 04, 2011 By Karli Bell
Many people think that almost all teenagers do not pay attention to politics or any political, economical, or governmental object that is happening in the United States. I am one of the few teens who has paying attention to politics since I was in the 5th grade. After looking back over the past two years that Barack Hussein Obama has been the president, I have to come to the conclusion that Obama is creating proposals and bills that are following the textbook definition of socialism. Socialism, according to the Merriam-Webster definition, is any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods . Basically, socialism is a political view that supports equal distribution of wealth and goods. Obama has been supporting the "equal distribution of wealth" position by proposing the 2009 Stimulus package which cost a little over 3 trillion dollars when our national debt at that time was about 3 trillion dollars. Obama nearly tripled the national debt which caused an economic tailspin. How is this socialistic? Obama proposed that the USA will spend 50 million dollars for the national endowment of the arts, 20 million for sodding the national mall, 400 million for climate research change, and 200 million for STD prevention. All of this might sound good right? Wrong. Obama, on December 6, 2008, when he was the President-elect, he said to the nation that he would "We won’t just throw money at the problem. We’ll measure progress by the reforms we make and the results we achieve -- by the jobs we create, by the energy we save, by whether America is more competitive in the world....." Well, Mr. Obama, that is EXACTLY what you did. You DID just throw money at the problem; money that we DON'T have. He thinks that improving the federal buildings look pretty will jump start our economy. Really, Mr. President? Oh, yeah, that makes complete sense. Didn't Harvard or the University of Chicago teach anything about social economics. Speaking of background, Obama does have some pretty impressive educational accomplishments. He was able to attend some the most prestigious schools. However, right after he graduated from the University of Chicago, he was a community organizer, professor of Constitutional Law, author, lawyer, and Senator. Sure, that sounds like some impressive occupations, but what exactly did he do in the Illinois State Senator when a bill was presented? He voted "present." He never made a decision. A community organizer as a position cannot help your decision-making process when you are a president. His background does NOT provide enough experience to be a president. When people say that Barack Hussein Obama has made some great decisions and has amazing background experience, they must be one of those Americans who never looks into detail about the political and economic state of the US. Do we really want a socialistic, unexperienced, European as our president? It's up to you........... |
