there are many arguments of whether final exams should be before or after christmas break , but in my opinion i think that finals should be before christmas break. Many may wonder why, thinking it would be best to hold them off as long as you possibly can. While this method works for me in some situations, not in this particular one. Another argument could be brought up that it is efficient to have the two long week vacation to study for the tests that cover a whole semester of information but if there's anyone in high school that is like me, which I'm certain there is, I like to spend those weeks relaxing and not having to worry about school. I thought that's what BREAK implied? A break from school, homework, studying, and stress. Why should we have these tests hanging over our head the two weeks where we should be enjoying the few weeks we get off to lay back and spend time with the family, after all that is what the holidays are suppose to do. I don't think it is a fair expectation for students to spend there break studying. Some even go on trips and don't have the option of efficiently studying. In my opinion, while it may be helpful for some people to have the two weeks we receive off to study, I would prefer to have it before break so that could be one less thing hanging over my head. Not only this but if your anything like me, finals are among the many things like two papers, english homework, and service hours to get done. I think it would be nice to come back from break with a fresh start and only have to worry about how we are going to start off the new semester fresh rather than still having to worry about how we are going to end the previous semester well. Overall, I think finals should be before break to save all of us many problems and stress. |
