The nominations for the Oscars have been announced! Who made the cut? True Grit has appeared to come out as the movie on top with the number of nominations received being 10 out of 24 categories. The closest competitor to this movie is The Social Network. True Grit was nominated for cinematography, directing, sound editing, sound mixing, writing, costume design, art direction, best actress supporting role, best actor in a leading role, and best picture. According to this large number of nominations, it appears that you must have a cast of amazing actors, directors, sound techs, and people behind the scenes. An Oscar nominated movie must also have an intriguing plot that draws viewers. True Grit focuses on the story of a 14 year-old girl who hires “the toughest US marshal” to go with her on her journey to capture the man who killed her father.
