Uggs aren't uglyTuesday, February 15, 2011 By Kristen Rust
Comfy or stylish? What’s more important? Recently style seems to be more important than being comfortable. Ugg boots, one of the must have things in middle school, aren’t nearly as popular now. Even though many people have shown that being comfortable is more important than looking presentable, these boots have worn out their welcome. The classic short Ugg boot in the shade of chestnut used to be everywhere you looked. Now instead of Ugg’s there’s a trend to wearing more fashion -forward style of boots made of leather or suede in Lindy halls. Ugg’s other fashion footwear choices are more popular then their classic boot. They have expanded their range to include all different styles of shoes. Moccasins, slippers and even flip flops have the Ugg branding. The moccasins vary in different colors from wine, light blue and light pink. The Ugg’s boots come embroidered and with studs or special accents. Famous shoe designer Jimmy Choo teamed up with the Ugg creators and created their own line of specialty boots. They range from 700 to 1,000 dollars. The typical Ugg’s range from a hundred to three hundred dollars. The crochet or knit Uggs also come in different colors and stripes. The knit made Uggs are made of wool but do not have sheepskin within them. They come in plain colors and stripes even some with buttons. Most girls prefer Ugg moccasins today instead of the plain style boots. Some may think Ugg boots might be completely extinct in the high school but the company has grown and expanded sales remaining a footwear fashion force. |
