The Tales of Young Trey Trey-- Visiting college campuses for my futureMonday, May 09, 2011 By Trey Alessio
The Tales of Young Trey Trey-- Visiting college campuses for my future I have been searching for the right college for awhile now . I want to be the next guy on ESPN as an anchor or a broadcaster. So I am looking for a journalism or a broadcasting major. I want a really good education to better my chances at becoming a sportscaster. I think that would be the sickest job in the world—to talk about sports everyday would be so fun. I am also taking football into consideration. I would love to play college football. I believe I have what it takes to be a college athlete. I’m not trying to be cocky at all, but I’m tired of listening to the haters saying that I can’t do it. I’d love to prove them wrong and let the haters motivate. Playing football would be a challenge as well as being something I love and have dreamed of doing. I’m willing to sacrifice football for a great education though. I also take in the proximity to home and the simple fact of the college being the perfect fit. That means everything I’m looking for all in one and it just feels right to be at that college. I have taken a football visit to Mizzou aka Missouri and saw them play Kansas State. It was very intense and I had a lot of fun. I also went to an Iowa State visit and watched them play Mizzou which was kind of ironic, but I enjoyed that visit as well. I also have gone to Junior Days for Drake and Tulsa. I was also pretty impressed with those schools as well. Tulsa was a small D1 school where you can’t hide in the classroom and they play good football. I also liked Drake a lot. It was close to home as well as a tightly knitted family for a football team. This college searching process has been fun and very eye-opening. I am looking forward going on in the process and beginning my college career. But I’m going to enjoy my senior year and get ready for a great university. Lookout for a decision coming sometime in the next year by myself and my family. It’s been a ride and I can’t wait to take over as a senior with Clan ALHS and become college bound. Trey Alessio Feature Editor |
