AHS heads into 21st Century with CNC machineTuesday, October 18, 2011 By Eschisler
AHS now has a CNC router machine which allows drawings to be engraved into wood. Mr. Mink explains how the CNC machine works. Students draw a picture of their choice in Auto Cad. which is a computer generated drawing software and then they export the file from Auto Cad. over to the CNC machine which then gives the router a signal to engrave the drawing into a piece of wood. This machine can do projects ranging from a small design to a plaque with engravings up to a large sign for a business or other establishment. CNC router machine really gives students an experience into 21st century equipment and gives them a hands on approach on how to use these types of machines which are becoming increasingly popular into today's workfield. |
