Player of the Week: Renault fires up the Lady Bulldogs

As the Lady Bulldogs volleyball team roared into the gym with pink almost head to toe for Breast Cancer Awareness month, the newly picked Player of the Week played her heart out on the court. Senior Andi Renault was nominated by her coach to be the second player of the week. Renault was chosen for this out of any day, Senior Night, her last high school home game. "She really motivates the team, she is a good team captain, and she is an awesome blocker," Coach Kayla Buchanan said. Many of Renault's teammates agree with their coach's decision for this title. "I think this is a perfect title for [Andi], because she shows some of the best effort, and she is one of the best on the team by far," sophomore Courtney Young said. Although the Lady Bulldogs were down on the scoreboard often this season, Renault would not let her team fall apart. "No matter what she always had hope in our team, no matter what the circumstances were," junior Megan Fender said. Both Fender and Young agree that Renault is "very outgoing, always smiling, humorous, and has a good attitude." For senior night, Renault and senior Marissa Bruton were greeted with huge posters with their names and memorable messages. In addition, Renault received a rather odd present. "I gave Andi the biggest jar of applesauce ever, because she loves it. She always has," Young said. Renault, very satisfied with her new jar of applesauce, played her last game on the Bulldog court - blocking multiple times, serving multiple aces, and keeping the ladies up with hope and spirit.
