A cold Senior Night

Wednesday, November 09, 2011 By Krista Heard

It was a cold and emotional Senior Night for Turner Lions on Thursday. 95 seniors walked down the field escorted by parents, siblings, and coaches as the students were remembered for their accomplishments, hard work, and participation in their years at Turner. During the second quarter, Senior Quarterback Garon Goodspeed took a hard tackle and was unable to get up. He was escorted to the sidelines and then rushed to the hospital. "I was in the hospital by half-time," said Garon. He said that his collarbone had been broken in the tackle. The 42 degree weather and Garon's injury helped lead to a Lion defeat with the score final being 55 to 17. After the game was over, senior Band members, Lionettes, and football players all grouped together and sang their last Alma Mater together. "Who knew 40 games would go by so fast?" said Lionette Lieutenant Captain Hayley Groves.
