Mrs. Imelda Trevino, a long time Cardinal fan and associate, has recently been promoted to associate principal. "This is my sixteenth year, I actually went to high school here from 1986-1990,"Mrs. Trevino said. She was an English teacher for five years and a counselor for ten years. Mrs. Trevino started this year with high hopes for both teachers and students on the campus. "My goal this year is to really be in the classrooms to work with teachers and students to improve teacher and learning." Mrs. Trevino said. "I want to ensure that everybody is going beyond meeting the minimum... to prepare our students for college and careers," Mrs. Trevino said. Being associate principal means being second in command, a job title with responsibilities. Responsibilities she is glad to handle, she said. "I go into classrooms. It’s not so much an evaluation of the teacher, but rather to see what is going on in the classroom, to see what really works and what’s not," Mrs. Trevino said. "It’s more of cooperation, collaboration between the administration and the classroom teacher." She said it is a cohesion she has always admired. "I just love being a Cardinal; I love that this is home," Mrs. Trevino said." I got to do the alma mater in our gym, and years later I got to see my daughter across the gym doing the same thing. I love it here," Mrs. Trevino said.
