Visit the student store today to pick up new Stallion gear!Wednesday, January 04, 2012 By Shelby Holloway
Need spirit wear? Have you ran out of school supplies? This year, the school student store here at San Juan Hills gallops to success in expanding in spirit wear, school supplies, and much much more! The school student store called the “Stallion’s Trading Post” is located in the quad next to the ASB office in Building E. The store carries all kinds of school supplies that are handy when you need them. There is stylish spirit wear colors of navy, gold and white. Prices are affordable for all. Want to get your teacher an appreciation or special holiday gift? They carry low-dollar amount gift cards to Subway, Starbucks, Pizza Hut, Baskin-Robbins, and other places that people enjoy. They get new merchandise almost every week. The volunteers are always eager to hear suggestions from the students on what items and styles to carry. The Stallion’s Trading Post is open every school day at lunch and on special event evenings. It is sponsored by SJHHS PTSA, which means it’s self funded and all the profits stay within our school and go directly back to the students through scholarships, special events, and adult education programs. It is run by the fabulous SJHHS PTSA volunteers: Jill Dorris, Heidi Silveria, Christy Weissman, Keely Gloude, Nicole Hudson, Lisa Vogel, Sylvia Garwood, Shelly Welcome, Cindy Bergstrom, Kim Crowe, Rivka Bent, Teresa Schickling, Jody Van Zanten, Lori Fry, Tammy Major, Sue Murray, Jeanne Barys, Cindy Xifo, Jeannine Ciernia, Kathleen Levinson, Carol Wippler and led by Judy Janke. The student store all started several years ago by two sisters who are still SJHHS Moms- Cristene Didier and Colleen Ortiz. If it was not for their hard work and donated time, the store would not have been possible today since many high schools do not have a great student store available. They accept cash and checks as payment but now we can process all credit and debit cards (for most purchases). Gift Cards and Gift Certificates are the “cash only” exceptions. In years to come, they are hoping to have the student store also available online. Come down today and check out all the new merchandise and supplies the student store has for your convienence! |
