Middle School Quiz Bowl Following High School's FootstepsSaturday, January 07, 2012 By Simi Oduwole
When many say that older people or students at Christian Academy set an example, this is entirely true. The popularity of the middle school quiz team has to be because of how the younger students saw the older high school students participate earlier this school year. The turn outs to the meeting has exceeded the amount that came for the high school. This is was a surprise to the high school and middle school coordinator Mrs. Vicki Marcis. “I think that the talk that they have heard from high school has make such a great response to the middle school quiz bowl team. If middle school had been the first ones to participate this year, it probably would not be as popular.” They started practicing for the quiz bowl before Thanksgiving break, and it has gone great so far according to Marcis. “I ordered some practice questions from the National Quiz Bowl Association and they are being exposed to difficult questions.” Now that we know successful the preparation, and popularity for the middle school team has been, what are some of the differences or similarities between middle school and high school? “Well, middle school is more aggressive with answering questions, they are more of a talkative bunch. We are going to have stop this. I do like that they are a competitive group, among each other even. I will say that both teams (middle and high) were equally as excited about the competition.” Marcis is very happy about the team, and is planning on great things to happen in February when they compete. We will be checking in the team when their competition is done, and see who they did! Good luck to the team, go Saints! |
