During the year 2011, snow came down a good amount here in Burlington North Carolina, along with most of the nation. Now in late 2011 and into 2012, it's not looking very hopeful for snow. According to the WFMY News 2 weather man, the reason for no snow this year is because of where the jet stream is right now. The jet stream, unlike last year, is way up north almost out of the United States. This is all very depressing for us as teens and kids because we look for snow to make these long cold winter days worth while, and most importantly to get off school. As of right now, it doesn't look like it's going to be a snowy winter-- not even really cold like we have been use to the past couple of years. This is just something that we will have to get use to because not every year we will get snow. In some people's eyes. this no snow has been great. I dont really know who would think that because snow is amazing and everyone can have fun in it. But then again who wants to make up school because of snow. Snow or no snow, this is going to benefit everyone: allowing us to keep our days that we have off, off and not being forced to make up school on those days. |
