The Featured Artist of the week is Mac Lethal. Mac Lethal is a white underground rap artist who was born and raised in Missouri and is of Irish descent. His first recorded album was called “Men Are From Mars, Porn Stars Are From Earth.” Up until this album was released, Mac (David Sheldon) struggled with heavy drug addiction, which was later on broken by the realization that he didn’t need cocaine to be brilliant. He has released many albums since then, including my favorite and his most recent album, Irish Goodbye . David Sheldon writes music about a lot of things, such as mainstream music, drug use, selling out, popular people, and his family. He has also rapped to the beat of songs like his version of “Look At Me Now” (originally by Christopher Brown). Mac Lethal's inspiration, I think, comes a lot from his past, and his family. Either way, Mac will always be himself – like it or not. |
