DECA Program Launches Exciting Promotion: Partnership with Dew Tour underwayFriday, January 20, 2012 By Jeff O'Malley, '12
Some of the best winter athletes of our time will gather in Killington, Vermont where the Winter Dew Tour holds the Pantech Invitational. Such athletes as Olympic medalists Louie Vito and Kelly Clark, and 16-year-old Torin Yater Wallace plan to attend. And Apponequet High School is involved. Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) is a high school program which “ prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.” Here at Apponequet, the DECA program has immersed itself into a Winter Dew Tour marketing project to promote the Killington event. This project teaches students important lessons in advertising and how to execute a grassroots marketing campaign. The goal of the project is to reach the 12-19 year-old audience in an effort to increase awareness of Winter Dew Tour events. To accomplish this, DECA members will run promotions during lunches and school events. Promotion efforts will also include office announcements, emails, newspaper postings and hallway displays. The Pantech Invitational will be held on Jan. 19 th - Jan.22 nd at Killington Resort. More information can be found at www.allisports.com/winter-dew-tour/event/killington-2012 . |
