Prep Basketball logs 17-7 overall recordFriday, January 28, 2005 By Compiled from staff reports
South Kent School’s Prep Basketball team continues to plow through its Class A schedule. Now more than half way through the season, the team is 8-5 in the league games and 17-7 overall. There are 15 games left in the Prep Basketball season prior to the playoffs for the New England Preparatory School Athletic Conference playoffs (NEPSAC), which will begin March 2 at Endicott College. SKS is currently ranked sixth in Class A, out of the 11 teams in the division. Head Coach Raphael Chillious is hopeful that South Kent will again make the playoffs and go even further this year. “I’m very pleased with the progress the team continues to make on a daily basis,” said Coach Chillious. “This team is committed to working hard and sticking together, which are qualities that can’t be taught. South Kent has as good a chance to win the title as any team in the league.” After a loss Jan. 21 to Winchendon, the Prep Team turned things around quickly the next day with a well-earned victory against Bridgton Academy from Maine, 98-85. Bridgton Academy beat SKS, 95-85, two weeks earlier. South Kent plays two home games this weekend – Friday at 6 p.m. against Philadelphia Christian Academy and Saturday at 3 p.m. against New Hampton School. |
