Advice - from the drop box!Tuesday, March 06, 2012 By Advice team
I am over 250 pounds and I’m only a sophomore. People always make fun of me for it. I'm not sure if I should stop eating, or if I should just ignore all of the haters. My parents work at L.A. Fitness and are really fit and they call me chunkers. When I tried to use a treadmill I broke it. What do I do? I’m very sorry for what you’re going through. I highly suggest you discuss this issue with your teachers or counselors and have them guide you through this difficult process. Don’t stop eating, because that is very unhealthy and won’t make things any better. If you are unhappy with your weight, try exercising in your room at home. Don’t overwork yourself, but start off slow and see how that goes. People will always judge and make fun of someone whether that person is skinny, fat, tall, or short. You need to try your best to ignore the hate. You just need to feel confident in yourself and love who you are. I would tell another family member or an adult at school about what your parents are saying to you. Your parents are making you feel insecure about yourself and parents aren’t supposed to say stuff like that. I hope you go seek help with an adult or a trusted family member, or even a professional therapist. Remember you are NOT alone. Also, if you feel beautiful, you will look beautiful. Good luck. |
