The Ravens Wednesday, March 07, 2012 By Christian Scott
Over the years, the Baltimore Ravens ’ stats have gone up and down. While t he Ravens have had trouble on offense , defense has always been their strongest point. No matter what they did, the Ravens just could never get their offense right. The only time they were successful was when they won the Super Bowl in 2000. After that game, Baltimore’s offense rating dropped considerably. Baltimore’s chances improved in 2008 when rookie quarterback Joe Flacco, rookie running back Ray Rice, and new head coach John Harbaugh arrived. For rookies, Flacco and Rice did pretty well. But still it wasn’t enough to get the team to the Super Bowl that year. In 2010, the Ravens drafted Anquan Boldin. This was one of the best things the Ra vens did to try get their offens e together. But again, it still wasn’t enough. The Ravens got just one step away from the Super Bowl and got put out by their rival team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Ravens’ defense has always been number one in the league, but a team needs more than just defense to make it to the top. Now, in 2012, they have finally gotten their offense and defense on the same page. This team is finally showing us that they want to make it to the top. A lot of people thought Baltimore would go all the way, and they almost did. They made a few mistakes that cost them their game against the New England Patriots, putting them out of the Super Bowl spot. This season, they were undefeated at home and they were 12–4 overall. With luck and hard work, they will go all the way next year. |
