Winter Percussion Wins a New War

Sunday, March 11, 2012 By Alliee Hindman

This past week, the Dakota Ridge Screaming Eagles Winter Percussion ensemble took home the first place trophy at their competition at Legacy High School in Westminster. “I was so excited we won,” says sophomore, Roxi Danielson, “It was a dream come true.” These Screaming Eagles definitely deserve this win with their tight schedules. School takes six hours a day, followed by practicing from when school is out until nine o’clock at night. This grueling regimen doesn’t leave much time for homework and dinner. “It’s a tight schedule,” says Jorden Palmer, a sophomore, “But we get through it.” “I’m glad to be apart of this team,” Chai Hall, a sophomore, comments, “We are a family and we love to win.” The Screaming Eagles still have more competitions to tackle, and they hope to show their Eagle pride by coming out on top every time.
