Girls' Bowling sends members to States

The girls bowling team here at Walled Lake Central competed at the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Bowling State Finals on Friday, March 2. They made it to the semi-finals, and placed third overall in the qualifying block. On Saturday, March 3, sophomore Sara Abraham and junior Cara Krolikowski, competed in the Division 1 Individual State Finals. The team beat Lake Orion, 1,260-1,127, in the quarter-finals. Unfortunately, they were defeated by Davison, 1,204-1,070, in the semi-finals. “At the beginning of the season, we weren’t much of a team,” said junior Brianna Palarchio. “But before regionals came, we put aside our differences and made it count when it really mattered at the state finals. ”Abraham and Krolikowski, along with several other Lakes Area bowlers, participated in the Division 1 Individual State Finals. Abraham was able to proceed to round 16. She was defeated by Jackson’s Olivia Clark, 348-275. In the qualifying block, Krolikowski, placed thirtieth. Overall, the girls ended this season on a good note, and are looking forward to next season.
