Science teacher wins state award

On March 9, Ms. Brittany Rumphol was awarded the Wisconsin Society of Science Teacher’s (WSST) New Teacher Award at the WSST Conference in Madison. Ms. Rumphol teaches Advanced Biology and College Prep Biology. Ms. Rumphol said, “I’m happy to receive this award. I’m thankful for the recognition from my peers.” She was nominated for this award by fellow CHS science teacher Mr. Tracy Bartels. Students have also noticed her excellent teaching ability. “Ms. Rumphol’s teaching is not only enthusiastic, but effective. She puts forth immense effort to fit everyone’s educational needs,” said freshman Austin Dawson. Ms. Rumphol graduated from North High School in Eau Claire and then went to UW-Oshkosh for secondary education and majored in biology. She earned her teaching license in January of 2011 and last spring taught in Beaver Dam. M s. Rumphol said that the students and community were very welcoming of her and that made her feel excited to teach here. S he als o said that the main reason she wants to continue teaching here in Chilton is because of the high respect the students display and achievements they make .
