Boys hockey comes to an endWednesday, March 28, 2012 By Sydney Jones
When the Rushmore Thunder boys started their season, they had no idea where they would go. The boys had lost a few strong seniors, but that didn't stop them from trying to get where they needed to go, which was as far as they could in state. "We had a young team, and the younger players learned a lot as the year went on," Michael Kelly, senior and Rushmore Thunder captain, said. "We were one of the top teams by the end of the year, but just didn't perform well as a team at state. We had some great times though. 'X gon' give it to ya!'" The boys overall had a great season, but ended up getting only sixth at state. With young team this year, Rushmore Thunder is hoping for better days to come, and hopefully a repeat of the state win they had two years earlier. |
