Join the Publications Staff

Have you ever wondered who writes the stories that you see on the Danegeld? Have you ever held your yearbook and thought who on earth made this wonderful book? Well here at Viewmont we have a publication staff that puts all of these things together for you. The staff consists of students at the school who spend their 8 th period writing stories and putting together things for the Danegeld and yearbook. It’s not too late to sign up to take the class next year and some current members of the staff wanted to let you all know why you should take the class. Jarom Allen (12 th grade) said “it’s a fun and super chill class. You can do whatever you want; it’s a really easy A.” Jessie Reid (12) said. “It’s my favorite class. You get to walk around the school and assess what’s going on here. You get to have a balance of working with the yearbook and the newspaper and it’s so fun.” Jessie also added, “In the class you have to make sure you remember deadlines.” Brianna Noble (12) says, “The class is great because if there is something happening that you want people to know about you have a way to tell them by using the Danegeld. It’s also great to have a big part in the yearbook.” Brianna also said,”I’ve learned better writing skills. It’s also taught me good photography and editing skills.” Sariah Creager (11) said, “This class is lots of fun, it expands your creativity and you get to learn about writing about relative things. It taught me that writing can be fun even when you think it may be dull, but if you don’t get your work done early it can be stressful in the last days before deadlines.” Max Brcko (10) says, “This class taught me how to get things done before they are due, its time consuming but you get a say in the yearbook, and we have great teachers.” I agree with everything that these members of publications have said. It really is a great class. It’s so much fun and we always have a good time. By taking this class I have improved as a writer. I would highly recommend anyone to take publications next year.
