Handling a JobMonday, April 23, 2012 By Erin
When most teenagers turn 16 and get their license, they will be pushed by their parents to find a job. They want their kids to pay for a car, gas, and other expenses. When I turned 16 my mom automatically wanted me to start filling out applications to put gas in the car I already had, license or not. I heeded her words and started putting my application in everywhere. When I put my application in for the job I have now I was called back in about a week and set up and interview. After said interview, I was on the job. When I first started I loved the place. The people were nice, the managers were okay, and the work was easy. That all quickly took a downhill plunge. After having the job for about two months, I realized how much drama I would soon have to put up with. All the nice wait staff quit, the managers attitudes toward the workers changed, and I found myself in a place quite like high school. High school is full of drama, and I would have never thought I would be able to compare my job to my school life. When I look back and think about the way i started looking for jobs, I see a few changes that I would of made. I would of researched a little bit more. Heres a tip for all you people looking for jobs. Always look into something before you make a decision! You may find yourself in a situation like I am in and strongly dislike your job but if you do your research, you will successfully find a job that you love! |
