DaVinci's Notebook

DaVinci versus John Locke

John Locke joined DaVinci on Friday January 13 in the DaVinci gym to compete. The sport: basketball. The goal: winning. Fans from both sides showed up to the gym at about 3:30 pm to support the JV basketball teams. DaVinci began with a rocky start as John Locke scored seven baskets before they were able to score. Although, DaVinci's Dragons did put up a tough fight and never gave up but unfortunately it wasn't enough to get back on top. Next up to play was none other than the Lady Dragons. Makenna Lovato was on fire, scoring point after point. Dragons held John Locke at zero until about the second quarter. Arial Froerer also had her fair share of baskets and good plays. Our Lady Dragons showed ambition along with teamwork all throughout the game. Ciara Messerly worked her way through the crowd of John Locke after stealing the ball to the other basket, scoring yet another two points. At the end of the game, the Dragons had fifty-six points while John Locke had a mere nine points. "This is the game that I've been waiting for," commented spectator Jordan Bradley as he took his seat in the bleachers waiting for the Boys Varsity game to start. The cheerleaders took the court and formed two lines opposite each other to cheer for the boys as their names were announced. Soon after, one boy from either team joined the referee center court for the jump ball. The ball was in the air and the game began. Yells and cheers echo from the crowd as the boys run back and forth down the court, dribbling and defending the basketball. Unfortunately for the Dragons, John Locke was playing at their best and not letting up. Through hard work and sweat the game ended, with DaVinci coming up short.
