The Rebel Yeller
Dance Your Way to the Talent ShowThursday, April 26, 2012 By Kannon Qualls
The annual April talent show is here. Among the individual student and comedy acts, there is a dancing finale. Last year, Thriller was a hit among the crowd. This year, Mrs. Amber Duley, the band director, wants to boogie, slide, and hop through the decades. All who participate in the act are wearing 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s clothing. In the sixties get ready for a wipe out. The dances are the Twist and The Wipe Out . In the seventies things are a bit more up to speed. The songs are Hustle and Stayin’ Alive. In the eighties be prepared to Bust A Move and for Mr. Robato . Then the more modern songs from our generation. Get ready to hit the sweets and candy to do The Tootsie Roll . I also hope you’re quick on your feet on Jump , and dive down on Da Dip and do the Macarena. The next song on the list is one we almost all know, The Cupid Shuffle . Mrs. Duley proves that every day here at Richland R-1 School is a party. The grand finale this year is the Party Rock Anthem. For those participating in the dances Mrs. Duley has already composed a tutorial video online. Youtube search “Dancing Through the Decades Duley” so you can learn it yourself. Dance your way to the talent show this Friday here at Richland. |
