Ending the year busy

Wednesday, May 09, 2012 By Kaetlin Russell

With the end of the year just around the corner it comes with its busy weeks especially for the seniors. With all these busy days it’s difficult to keep up with the schedules and the days. On May 8, beginning at 9 a.m. the senior honors day will begin and afterwards will be field day. Senior honors day shows appreciation to our seniors and recognizes all of their talents, and hard work and along with this event seniors are awarded their college scholarships. Many students took home many scholarships and awards. As well as being a happy event for quite a few teachers it was an emotional time losing some of the students they were the closest to. On May 11, there will be group cap and gown photos for the seniors. Seniors must be in the gym at promptly 8 a.m. Afterwards students will leave from the gym to First Baptist Church to have formal senior group pictures taken. Make sure to bring your cap and gown and dress nice. May 15, is a half day and the last day of school and will be filled with senior activities. Baccalaureate practice is at Central Baptist Church at 8 a.m. After practice seniors will be going to brunch. Afterwards students will return to the high school and practice for graduation and see the senior video. Then on Friday, May 18 at 7 p.m. graduation will be held at the Corbin Arena, however graduation practice will be that afternoon at 12 p.m. at the arena. If you’re a senior the next two weeks are definitely filled with chaos and not a lot of time to spare at all. However you should still enjoy every moment that you have left with your fellow classmates and live it up.
