Their whole album consists of cheesy but catchy love songs that immediately serenade any girl that listens to them. The voices, and not to mention looks, of the four British, and one Irish, band members, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, first caught everyone’s attention on the seventh season of The X Factor. They originally auditioned as soloists, but after being rejected from the “Boys” category they banded together and made the “Groups” category, thus becoming “One Direction.” Shortly after coming in third place, they signed a record deal with judge Simon Cowell. Their debut album, Up All Night and debut single “What Makes You Beautiful” have been at the top of music charts ever since. Their song “Forever Young,” which would have been released if they won, was leaked onto the internet and has over seven million views on YouTube. The band also published a book titled One Direction: Forever Young , about their entire X Factor journey. One Direction’s album has an overdose of flirty pop songs with perfect harmonies that are making tweens and teens alike swoon. Though the whole album has the obvious “love” theme, each song itself has it’s own classic twist and the album never seems repetitive. Their song “Gotta Be You” is a more romantic melody with soaring vocals, while “Up All Night” is a flirtier and upbeat song that makes anyone who listens want to dance. The band belts out “One Thing” as a pleading and catchy love song, and “Stole My Heart” is a more electronic and soft love ballot. But it is not just their music that has captured the hearts of young girls across the world, but also the boys. What girl does not want five Justin Bieber’s singing their heart out to her? Each boy is fashionably dressed, has perfectly styled hair, an adorable accent and a cute “good-boy” persona to match. With angelical voices to go along with it, they definitely fit boyfriend material. It is crazy to think that these boys, all with dreams of becoming famous singers, had never met each other prior to this competition, and now only a couple months later they are one of the most loved boy bands in several countries. Every song they sing has some sort of meaning to it that every girl, and even every guy, can relate to. The boys have obvious talent and with good looks to top it off it is hard for any girl not to fall for them at least a teeny bit. |
