The Galleon

This year the Rockledge Raiders had a very good baseball season ending the season with a record of 27-5. This year the Raiders were named the district and conference champions of the 5A class. Coming just short of moving on to the final round of regionals. The raiders lost to Lake Lake Wales, in a very long game. The game lasted nearly three hours due to a rain delay that started in the sixth inning. Before the rain delay the score was 2-0 in favor of Lake Wales. After the rain delay all of the Raiders were ready and hyped for a second chance to come back with two inning left. In the last inning we had our opportunity to tie the game with a runner on first. Raider's last batter came up and flew out to right field which ended the Raider’s season. Besides this last game, the Raiders had a great season putting up one of the best records in Raiders history. Not only were the players satisfied with their season, but the coaches were ecstatic the way we performed this year. This will be a season that the Rockledge Raiders staff and roster will never forget. Raiders had some very big moments this year like playing in the Johnny Damon Spring Break tournament and coming in second place losing a really close game to the third best team in the whole country. Next year’s season may not be as great as it was this year, but do not get it wrong we will be a team to beat. We will still have are star John Sternangle and one of ace pitchers Pat, and the whole team will be working together to get better, and get stronger, and bond as a team. To put us on top of the chart like we all want to be. RAIDER PRIDE!! |
